Heather Armstrong, Director and Pipe Major

Heather Armstrong was taught to bagpipe with Dartmouth and District Pipes and Drums Association when it was known as Dartmouth Junior.  Her piping journey with them brought her to countless parades and events throughout Ireland, Scotland and Canada.

During her years with the band, she was the recipient of the

Dartmouth and District Jim Connors Award in Senior Piping (2011 & 2013) as well as the Dartmouth and District Cote Award in Senior Piping (2013).

More recently Heather received 4th place in Piobaireachd for the grade 2 competition at the Antigonish Highland Games (July 2019).

When Heather moved to Chester Basin in 2014, she was disheartened by the lack of piping and drumming on the South Shore. As a result, she founded the South Shore Pipes and Drums Association in 2018,  and has not looked back!

Heather Armstrong is also a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and with that has received a lot of connections in the music industry. Lastly, with 10 years working in the Hotel Industry under her belt, there is no need to go anywhere else,

she has you covered!
