About Us

Heather Armstrong, Owner/Director

“It is an absolute privilege to become Owner and Director of the Piper’s Guild.  Music lessons were welcomed within my family at a young age due to a grand love of music.  This resulted in bagpiping since the age of 10, singing since the age of five, and playing guitar since the age of 19.

My two most memorable moments to date would be starting the brand new South Shore Pipes and Drums Association (this September 20, 2018), receiving 1st place at my first solo competition (10 years old), performing for the TempleBar TradFest in Dublin Ireland, and competing grade three—with Dartmouth and District Pipe and Drums—at the World Pipe Band Championship in Glasgow, Scotland.”

Heather was awarded the Dartmouth and District Jim Connors Award in Senior Piping, 2011 & 2013, and the Dartmouth and District Cote Award in Senior Piping, 2013.

Heather is currently the Principal and Pipe Major at the South Shore Pipes and Drums Association, Volunteer Bagpiper with the RCMP Pipe and Drum Band, and lead vocalist (as well as guitarist & tin whistle) in the Music Ministry at Anglican’s Parish of St. Martins (South Shore, Nova Scotia).

Heather also holds 10 years working in Tourism and Hospitality –Reservations, Audit, Event planning, Front Office, and Hotel Management .
